lila - a Sanskrit word meaning

divine play

It doesn’t matter if you can balance on one foot for a thousand years, or wrap your leg around your neck. The real question is:

What makes your soul sing?

You choose your path.

Your inner guru guides you. When you get quiet, and come into relationship with your breath, you begin to find your way. Walking slowly, at the pace of Nature, you shine your Light on an Earth that is aware of your every step.

Yoga is joy. Yoga is magic.

Yoga holds the power to remind you that you are Divine Light.

Gentle Yoga for Seniors - IN PERSON

WATCH HERE FOR UPCOMING SENIORS CLASSES

Whether you are a senior returning to your yoga practice after a while away, or you're yoga curious... or not a senior at all, and experiencing mobility, balance, alignment, or strength concerns, this 5-week series is a great place to come home to.

We'll start with the BASIC BASICS - no pretzelling required. We'll play with props and modifying postures to work safely in your body.

If you're thinking "I can't get down on the floor because I can't get up off the floor," there's no reason you can't use a chair or other props and still experience the magic, peace, and body-soul benefits of yoga.

We’ll settle into our practice with a short meditation or pranayama (breath exercise), workshop some postures and slow flow movemnets, and end with a relaxing live music savasana (final rest pose).

Can’t wait to ease into some yoga play with you.

FUTURE CLASS DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED.

YOUR YOGA

What you need - when it works for you.

New to yoga or coming back to your practice after a long hiatus? Shy about group classes? Do you have physical restrictions that make a yoga practice seem out of reach?

Consider co-creating a custom practice tailored to you, guided by an experienced yoga teacher. Your Yoga offers a free initial consultation with Kristi to establish your goals in body, mind, and spirit. Then we’ll get started with a flexible schedule of one-on-one classes via Zoom that move at your pace and focus on your personal goals. Classes are short (typically an hour), and you’ll be able to give and receive feedback to shape the practice in the moment—Your Yoga is a private workshop just for you.

IN-PERSON SESSIONS ARE AVAILABLE IF YOU LIVE IN THE MADAWASKA VALLEY.

Session cost is an affordable $30/hour. You can book one class at a time, go weekly or bi-weekly - whatever works. Daytime, early evening, and weekend sessions are available.

Focused on your personal goals.

You don’t need to be bendy. You don’t need to be able to balance on one foot. If it is challenging for you to work on the mat, we’ll use a chair, a wall, and any other props that are appropriate to support you as you find the expression of your yoga in your body.

If stress reduction is a goal, we can include restorative postures, meditation, breath practices (pranayama), and chanting.

Singing Earth: the Sacred Dance of Yoga and Shamanism - Part I

Have you ever felt part of something vast and peaceful during your asana practice, in meditation or in chant? Perhaps watching an eagle soar or hearing raindrops on water has brought you the answer to a question you’ve been holding in your heart.

Our inner and outer worlds interweave in ways our materialistic, highly urbanized culture has trained us to forget. What if we awoke one morning to discover that we are a part of the complex tapestry of a wild, wisdom-filled world, and not apart from it?

Singing Earth draws us into that dance.

Using techniques including shamanic journeywork with drum and rattle and slow walks in Nature, you’ll learn how to meet spirit helpers who inspire you in your yoga practice, yoga teachings, and your life path. You'll get to know your power animal and other teachers—your shamanic foot foundations—as you begin this work.

Coursework explores the energies that sustain and guide us as we walk on an Earth that is aware of our every step—the Elements, the Directions, and the thresholds of our senses.

Working with mantra, pranayama, storytelling, guided meditation, sacred chant, and power songs, you'll learn how to integrate shamanic techniques into your teaching and generate inspired posture flows.

There is a spiral toward Oneness at the centre of the yogic-shamanic dance. As we learn to walk in power in the inner realms, we discover that same Power's presence all around us, in each being we meet.
